Assessment Methods & Weighting
Attend TWO Qualifying seminars of their choices (please check the School’s Upcoming Events website regularly https://www.biosch.hku.hk/events/). These seminars are usually held on Friday morning and afternoon at 6N-11 and 3N-01 of the Kadoorie Biological Sciences Building during the year. It is the students' responsibility to sign their names at each seminar and email a critique of no less than 500 words to Dr C Schunter (schunter@hku.hk) to signify their attendance. Towards the end of the project course there will be a mini-conference where students are required to give a talk on their research findings. This will be assessed.
Students have to complete a formal write-up of the project in the style of a leading journal in their particular research field which their supervisor will select. A dissertation of 9,000-12,000 words (80% weighting) together with a completed Project Declaration Form in pdf format must be emailed to Ms. Flora Chan via ppchan@hku.hk by Monday 29 April 2024 (on or before 17:00).
A mini-conference will be organized for your oral presentation (20-25 minutes; 20% weighting). This is tentatively scheduled on Friday 3 May 2024.
