Philoganga vetusta (Ochre titan)

Habitat: larvae found under rocks in clean pools of hilly streams

General appearance: body very large sized, probably up to 40mm long; head rounded with a pair of big eyes - a row of spines along anteroventral margin of eye; labium quadrate with dome-shaped lingue; long movable hooks on each palpal lobe; no prementum seta, but fine setae present; legs slender without conspicuous marking; a pale longitudinal strip along midline of abdomen; three large caudal gills with a pointed end, but without lateral abdominal gills (cf. presence in Euphaea)
