Habitat: larvae associated with submerged vegetation in ponds and slow-flowing streams

General appearance: body large sized, up to about 25mm long; a pale longitudinal midline running from thorax to abdomen; three caudal gills paddle-shaped with a nodus; a cross-shaped brown marking on distal end of gills
