Carapace and flippers reddish brown. Carapace heart-shaped.
Plastron pale yellow.
Hatchling grey to brown in colouration.
Each Front flipper has two claws.
Male has narrower shell and thicker and longer tail.

Marine; nest on beach.

One specimen was caught near Hong Kong, but the exact locality is unknown.
Since it is known from the waters of all provinces along the coastlines of China near, it may be further records in Hong Kong waters in the future.
This species has a circumglobal distribution, primarily temperate waters.
