Description

Formerly identified as Dendrelaphis pictus pictus, later published as a new species Dendrelaphis hollinrakei (Lazell 2002).
Back brown, with a yellowish lateral stripe on each side.
Ventrals whitish, bluish or greenish.
A black stripe from eye to the angle of jaw.
Long and slender body.
Scale smooth. Tail very long and slender, account for one third of the total length.

Habitat

Diurnal. Arboreal species.
Found in tree or bush of tropical rainforest or secondary forest.
Primarily a lowland species in Hong Kong.

Behaviour Very agile. Slither over branches with ease.
Diet Lizards and frogs.
Reproduction -
Distribution In Hong Kong, very rare, with only 2 records: Hong Kong Island (1903) and in Shek Kwu Chau.
Conservation Status IUCN Redlist: NE (Not Evaluated)
