Total length Up to 50 cm.
Description Back brownish, with two rows of light brown spots on dorsal sides.
Ventral whitish.
Head dark brown with a white spot below each eye.
Upper Labials with white spots.
Whitish collar on neck.
Dorsal scales moderately keeled; temporal scales absent.
Habitat

Found in moderate to high altitude from 400m.
Terrestrial species, found in mountain grasslands or dwarf bamboos.

Behaviour Seems to be diurnal.
Diet Unknown, but likely to eat earthworms and slugs.
Reproduction Unknown
Distribution

Known only from a few specimens, all collected from Tai Mo Shan area.
Two most recent record taken from Tai Mo Shan peak in 1993 and Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden in 1996.

Occurs in Guangxi, Guangdong, Guizhou and Yunnan provinces in China, and northern Viteman.
