Description
  • A small-sized frog
  • Back green brown or pale brown with two golden-yellow stripes
  • Body slender
  • Belly white
  • Hind limbs with partial bands


Habitat and Ecology

Habitat Cultivated fields, grasslands, ponds and lowland streams.
Activity Nocturnal
Diet Ants and other insects.


Reproduction

Breeding period May to August
Mating call
Larvae  
Egg Eggs are clustered together at the bottom of ponds.

 

Distribution and Conservation

Distribution

Locally uncommon and restricted to a few localities in Sai Kung Peninsula, northern and central New Territories (e.g. Ho Pui, Cheung Sheung). Widespread throughout extreme southern China and Southeast Asia .
