El-Nezami's Lab is a newly established research group within the School of Biological Sciences. The Research Team is composed of young researchers mainly reading for their PhD and led by Associate Professor Hani El-Nezami. Our group focuses on studying the exposure and the impact of chemical on human health. The research team also involved in evaluating dietary intervention approaches that may benefit in counteracting the negative effects induced by these chemicals. Recently, we find that these approaches may also contribute to the prevention and/or treatment of chronic diseases (with special focus on gut health and atherosclerosis) that might not be directly associated with exposure to these chemicals. Moreover, we have a strong global network, including iconic pioneers in toxicology, gut microbiology and functional metagenonomics, such a network will facilitate reaching the ambitious goals of our research without compromises, and provides inspiring environment for research training at the collaborating partners laboratories.
