Habitat: larvae associated with submerged vegetation in clean streams

General appearance: body large sized, up to 50mm long, slender with long legs like stick insect; head small rounded; 1st antennal segment elongated as spear-like, much longer than the combined length of other segments; labium elongated with deep cleft on prementum; very long movable palpal hooks to seize prey firmly; abdomen elongated with three sword-like caudal gills
