Body size small medium up to about 4mm long (excluding antennae & cerci)
Body color yellow brown; thoracic nota and abdominal terga without brown marking (cf. present in other baetids e.g. Platybaetis bishopi)
Body shape dorso-ventral flattened

Thorax
All femora robust greatly enlarged, forefemur with a whitish mark anterior proximally on dorsal side
All tibia remarkably short. For hindleg, tibia length less than half of femur length
A single row of setae on hind femora and tibia

Abdomen
Gills I - VII single, untracheated
Central filament is greatly reduced to give a two-tailed impression; cerci length slightly longer than half of body length

Distribution:
In Hong Kong, specimens are found in Tai Po Kau Forest Stream.
