Freshwater Macroinvertebrates in Hong Kong

General appearance
Body size medium-small up to about 4mm long (excluding antennae & cerci)
Abdomen dorso-ventrally flattenedto give a stout impression (cf. an elongated body shape of Labiobaetis)

Head

Thorax
No villiopore on femora
Presence of a row of long setae along tibiae but without a transverse row of long setae across tibiaea, claw without denticle
Dark brown marking on dorsum of fermora submedially, on tibiae & tarsi proximally (see the picture below)
Claw without denticle (cf. presence of denticles in Chopralla fusina)

Abdomen
Gills I - VII single, tracheated, a pale coloration on tergum VIII
Central filament is not reduced -- 3 caudal filaments are shown clearly; cerci length is about less than half of body length

Distribution:
In Hong Kong, specimen are recorded from Sam Tsuen (Lantau island), Wu Kau Tang, Lam Tsuen River, Tan Shan River, Tan Chuk Hang, Ho Chung, Sha Lo Tung, Tai Po Kau Forest Stream, Tai Shui Hang (Ma On Shan).
