Description

Dark brown carapace.
Plastron yellow with brown patch on each scute; hinged plastron to allow complete closure of shell.
Head black or dark olive above, with a yellow stripe from head to neck;
Webbed digit.

Habitat

Marshes, swamps, ponds, pools, rice paddies. Juvenile fully aquatic. Adults semi-aqautic.

Behaviour -
Diet Naturally herbivorous, can accept animal source foods in captivity.
Reproduction Breeding between April to June; Egg-laying 3-4 times a year; lays 2 eggs each time.
Distribution

Released individuals in few localities in New Territories.
Native to Southeast Asia (Bangladesh, Cambodi, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Viet Nam)
